Duties Safely operate your own box truck or cargo van along designated courier routes, ensuring timely deliveries across various locations. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, adhering to safe lifting practices. Verify delivery details, scan packages using mobile devices, and maintain accurate delivery logs in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Communicate effectively with customers during deliveries, providing professional customer service and addressing any questions or concerns. Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols while driving, including adherence to weight handling regulations and traffic regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly. Manage route planning efficiently to maximize productivity while minimizing delays or traffic issues. Requirements Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with warehouse experience or commercial driving background. Owns a reliable box truck or cargo van suitable for courier routes, with valid registration and insurance. Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type, with a clean driving record. Demonstrated ability to handle manual transmission vehicles (manual transmission experience preferred). Knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling equipment operation (such as pallet jacks), and heavy lifting techniques. Familiarity with DOT regulations, weight handling in the workplace, and safe lifting practices. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently using mobile devices or route management apps. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients. Ability to lift heavy packages safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly throughout the shift.
