Owner/Operator - Transportation Services

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Owner/Operator specializing in transportation services to lead and manage freight delivery operations. This role offers the opportunity to operate your own commercial vehicle while providing essential logistics solutions across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. As an Owner/Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring timely, safe, and compliant transportation of goods, utilizing your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and route management. Duties Operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers to transport freight across regional or OTR routes. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure efficient routing and timely deliveries while adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load and unload cargo safely, including hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods, following hazardous materials regulations. Manage the transportation of automobile parts or vehicles using specialized equipment for safe handling and delivery. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and cargo documentation in compliance with DOT regulations. Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and troubleshoot issues to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or unforeseen delays. Requirements Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight delivery; experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or hazardous materials is preferred. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of cargo transported (e.g., hazmat endorsement). Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and hazardous materials handling procedures. Skilled in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments during deliveries. Ability to load & unload cargo manually or with equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Experience with manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers for route driving and freight transport. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for efficient freight movement. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred. Physical ability to handle manual handling tasks associated with truck loading/unloading operations.
