Job Summary Galaxy Freightline is hiring reliable, business-minded Owner Operators to support our growing local Intermodal (Container) and 53' Dry Van operations in Calgary. If you are looking for steady year-round volume running between local rail ramps (CPKC / CN), distribution centres, and cross-docks—with no overnight trips and guaranteed home time every night—we have immediate openings for you. What We Offer Consistent Year-Round Volume: Daily container drayage and dry van distribution runs throughout the Calgary metro area, Balzac, Rocky View County, and Airdrie. 100% Local Runs: Be home with your family every single night. Company Equipment Provided: Chassis and 53' Dry Van trailers supplied and maintained by us—power-only operators welcome. Supportive Local Dispatch: Experienced Calgary dispatch team that understands rail ramp processes and works to minimize your yard wait times. Key Responsibilities Transport shipping containers (20', 40', 53') to and from local rail terminals (CN / CPKC) and customer facilities. Safely handle local 53' dry van dock-to-dock pickups and deliveries. Perform thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and chassis/trailer inspections (DVIR). Properly secure container chassis twist locks, trailer doors, seals, and cargo loads. Accurately manage rail gate passes, interchange receipts, delivery receipts, and electronic logbooks (ELD). Comply with all National Safety Code (NSC), Alberta Transportation, and rail terminal safety protocols. Experience: Commercial driving: 2 years (required) Work Location: In person
