Responsibilities: Safely operate vehicle to transport freight across Canada-wide Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Canada in a safe, timely, and professional manner Operate dry van equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards Transport general freight in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle in accordance with National Safety Code (NSC) Standard 13 Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required Core Requirements Valid Class 1 driver's license Required to own Sleeper Truck – maximum 6 model years old All units must be painted in Canada Cartage Blue or White. Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada Clean 5 years driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events) Verifiable recent commercial driving experience (within the past 3 months to 1 year) Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions and at night Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach Role-Specific Requirements Class 1 / AZ Drivers Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class 1 truck driving experience Clean shave required to use face masks at lead plant Long-Haul / Canada-Wide Drivers Minimum 1 years of Canada-wide driving experience Mountain driving experience required Physical Requirements Ability to safely perform loading and unloading of freight using power pallet jack ,as required Perks Company-issued fuel card Company mobile device Annual uniform allowance During the on-boarding process, Canada Cartage decals will be installed at no charge on the units in the appropriate color combination Why People Love Working at Canada Cartage Canada Cartage offers a supportive, team-oriented workplace built on collaboration and respect, with opportunities for career growth and development.
