Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or specialized freight trucks, across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Manage loading and unloading of freight, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods following all safety protocols and legal requirements. Conduct thorough inspections of your vehicle before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards and truck maintenance needs. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation per FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status, delays, or issues during transit. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving with a focus on freight transportation. Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with endorsements relevant to the type of freight transported (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker). Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Experience operating refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment such as flatbeds or tankers preferred. Skilled in GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR routes. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks for cargo loading/unloading. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes and truck loading/unloading procedures. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance.
