imary point of contact for assigned drivers.
• Schedule port appointments, container flips, pickups, and deliveries.
• Coordinate empty container pickups and returns.
• Obtain oversize/overweight permits and verify accuracy of dimensions, weights, routes, and restrictions.
• Coordinate specialized equipment, including chassis, step decks, and double drops.
• Work closely with Maintenance & Repair (M&R) and Operations departments to ensure equipment availability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor driver progress and proactively resolve scheduling and transportation issues.
Qualifications
• Prior oversize port trucking dispatching experience required.
• Strong knowledge of POLA/POLB terminal operations and appointment systems.
• Familiarity with oversize/overweight permitting and specialized transportation equipment.
• Dispatching software experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
