Over-the-Road (OTR) Company Driver

Job Summary Horizon Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Black Gold Farms in Grand Forks, ND is seeking to hire hardworking, dependable, and experienced Class A CDL Company Drivers. In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers across long-distance routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight to various destinations. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods across the country in a safe, timely, and legal manner. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and compliance, will keep our logistics operations running smoothly. This position offers the opportunity to travel extensively, experience diverse routes, and be part of a dedicated team focused on excellence in transportation. OTR Driver Responsibilities: Safely transport freight between various locations over long distances. Perform truck inspections before and after each trip to ensure that all mechanical safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Carefully plan routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner. Be knowledgeable of road safety regulations and able to maintain concentration for extended periods. Maintain the company truck, which includes washing and cleaning it, maintain oil and water, monitor tire pressure, and perform minor repairs as needed. Maintain a logbook detailing the hours traveled, rest periods, miles covered, as well as all fuel, repair, and toll expenses. Promptly report any traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to management. Notify dispatch and customer of any delay that may affect scheduled delivery times. Assist in the loading and unloading of freight into and off the company truck. Obtain signatures upon completion of each delivery. Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods when required. Inspect loads to ensure cargo is secure. Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. OTR Driver Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred, not required. Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Clean driving record. Proven experience working as an OTR driver (minimum 2-years required) Sound knowledge of road safety regulations. The ability to use road maps and GPS devices.
