Over-the-Road Dispatcher / Operations Support About the role Peters Brothers, Inc. is a family-owned trucking company that's been keeping freight moving for 70 years. We're looking for an Over-The- Road Dispatcher / Operations Support associate for our Lenhartsville, PA Operations team. We are seeking an organized, dependable dispatcher to support our over-the-road operation. You’ll plan loads, assign work to drivers, track freight from pickup through delivery, and keep drivers and customers informed when schedules change. This role calls for quick, accurate decisions and a strong focus on safety, service, and efficient use of our trucks and equipment. What you'll do: Plan loads, routes, equipment, pickup times, and delivery appointments. Assign work to available drivers and provide clear load details and delivery instructions. Track shipments, driver hours of service, and equipment availability to help keep freight moving safely and on schedule. Communicate regularly with drivers, customers, brokers, and internal teams about shipment status, delays, and service needs. Resolve breakdowns, missed appointments, scheduling conflicts, and other issues that arise during a trip. Escalate significant issues when appropriate. Respond to after-hours inquiries and provide timely, professional updates. Keep dispatch activity, shipment status, and driver information current in the transportation management system. Coordinate with other operations teams on freight planning, shipping and receiving schedules, and customer requirements. Promote safe operations, follow company policies and DOT regulations. What we're looking for: High school diploma, GED, or HSED At least 1 year of transportation, logistics, OTR dispatch, or driver-management experience Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Outlook, spreadsheets, and email Strong organization, multitasking, and recordkeeping — accurate even when it's busy Calm, professional, and effective under pressure Excellent communication skills with drivers, customers and internal teams Reliable, punctual, and adaptable Nice to have: 2+ years in transportation, including city, rail and reefer operations Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT Hours of Service Experience with TMW, McLeod, or a similar TMS Why Peters Brothers?
