Responsibilities Safely operate cargo vans, sprinter vans, and box trucks of various sizes (16ft to 26ft) on regional and over-the-road routes. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary. Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and safety protocols during all driving activities. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with maintenance standards. Deliver goods promptly to designated locations while maintaining accurate delivery documentation. Communicate effectively using mobile devices to confirm delivery details and update progress with dispatch teams. Provide exceptional customer service by representing the company professionally during pickups and drop-offs. Follow safe lifting practices when handling freight, ensuring proper weight distribution and manual handling techniques. Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of vehicles to ensure operational efficiency. Comply with all warehouse operations procedures when loading or unloading cargo at facilities. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or courier services involving box trucks or cargo vans. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL license is a plus but not mandatory for certain vehicle types. Experience operating manual transmission vehicles preferred but not required; training available if needed. Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and heavy lifting techniques. Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and weight handling standards in the workplace. Strong customer service skills with professional communication abilities. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes. Comfortable working independently on route while managing time effectively.
