Outsourcing & MSP Advisory Consultant
PeerSourcePeerSource is currently recruiting for an IT Outsourcing Advisory Consultant on a Direct Hire basis. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States. Summary We are seeking an IT Outsourcing Advisory Consultant to lead complex enterprise engagements from strategy through execution within large, matrixed environments. This role blends front-end advisory leadership, including IT operating model transformation, sourcing strategy, and managed services provider (MSP) selection, with hands-on delivery ownership. Ideal candidates are comfortable toggling between executive-level advisory work and on-the-ground execution, build credibility quickly with CIOs and senior stakeholders, and thrive in ambiguous, politically complex environments where outcomes matter more than activity. Responsibilities Lead and support front-end advisory engagements focused on IT operating model transformation and managed services sourcing strategies. Own or co-lead the commercial selection process for strategic managed services partners, including RFP development, provider evaluation, commercial analysis, contracting, and transition planning. Serve as the engagement lead from kickoff through completion, maintaining accountability for defined business outcomes. Operate hands-on across a broad range of IT domains, including infrastructure modernization, cloud strategy, tooling, sourcing, and vendor governance. Navigate complex enterprise dynamics, including siloed organizations, competing stakeholders, and political friction, to maintain forward momentum. Facilitate executive-level working sessions, decision forums, and strategy briefings that translate complexity into clear, actionable direction. Partner with account and leadership teams to identify follow-on opportunities by recognizing unmet needs and future-state gaps during delivery. Balance advisory and delivery responsibilities within a utilization model of approximately 75–80% billable. Proactively identify and resolve engagement risks and blockers (technical, organizational, or political) before they impact outcomes. Required Skills 7+ years of experience leading enterprise IT outsourcing, transformation, and vendor governance initiatives within large, complex Fortune 500 environments. Demonstrated ownership of the managed services commercial selection process, including IT operating model definition, RFP development, provider evaluation, commercial negotiations, contracting, and SLA design (this experience must be clearly evident on the resume). Experience advising CIOs and senior technology leaders on IT operating model transformation, including transitions to outsourced or hybrid delivery models. Background in IT advisory or management consulting, with experience delivering client-facing engagements for large, multi-national organizations. Proven ability to drive outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving, and politically complex enterprise environments, balancing strategy with execution. Strong executive presence, emotional intelligence, and the ability to influence across technical teams, business leaders, and third-party providers. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus. Ability to travel to client locations when required. H1 sponsorship is not available.
