Outside Sales Representative – Building Materials & Millwork

Burning River Supply | Sarasota, FL Full-time | $50,000 annual base salary plus commission Burning River Supply is seeking a motivated sales representative to grow our building-material sales throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. We supply trim, interior doors, hardware, cabinets, flooring, and custom millwork, with in-house capabilities for custom molding, door preparation, and priming. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with builders, remodelers, contractors, designers, and architects—and turning those relationships into repeat business. What you’ll do Find and develop new customer accounts through calls, jobsite visits, networking, and in-person meetings. Build lasting relationships with customers and become their regular source for materials. Prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and close sales. Help customers select products that meet their project specifications and budgets. Coordinate with our team on pricing, orders, lead times, and deliveries. Maintain accurate customer information and follow-up records. Meet sales goals while following company pricing and discount guidelines. What we’re looking for Sales experience in building materials, millwork, doors, cabinets, flooring, or a related construction field preferred. An existing network of local builders and contractors is a plus. Strong communication, organization, and follow-through. Ability to understand measurements, product specifications, and customer material lists. Comfortable prospecting for new business and managing your own pipeline. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer meetings and jobsites. Compensation Annual base salary of $50,000 , plus tiered commissions on sales you generate: 5% on the first $100,000 in quarterly sales. 7.5% on the next $100,000 in quarterly sales. 10% on quarterly sales above $200,000 . Each rate applies only to sales within that tier, and tiers reset each quarter. Commission eligibility and payment terms will be outlined in the written compensation plan. Why Burning River Supply?
