OTR Truck Driver

Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers across designated OTR routes. Load and unload freight with precision, ensuring cargo is secured according to safety standards and regulations. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain schedule adherence. Handle logistics cargo with care, including hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods, following all applicable regulations. Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations during all operations. Manage automobile transportation tasks when required, including securing vehicles for transport. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, load details, and compliance logs in accordance with company policies. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform manual handling tasks for truck loading/unloading activities. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delays, or issues encountered on the road. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for manual handling and truck loading/unloading. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely. Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight transportation. Ability to manage long hours on the road while maintaining safety and professionalism at all times. Physical capability to handle manual tasks associated with load securing and cargo management.
