OTR Freight Dispatcher

Overview Join our growing transportation team as an OTR Freight Dispatcher and play a critical role in keeping freight moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule. In this position, you will coordinate freight operations, manage driver assignments, secure profitable loads, and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment. What You'll Do Dispatch and manage drivers operating throughout our regional and OTR lanes. Source and book freight through brokers, load boards, and customer relationships. Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery, ensuring on-time performance. Coordinate driver schedules, appointments, and route planning. Communicate with drivers regarding load information, delays, detention, and customer requirements. Track truck locations and proactively resolve service issues. Negotiate freight rates and maximize truck profitability. Maintain accurate load records, dispatch documentation, and customer updates. Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, shippers, customers, and drivers. Qualifications 2+ years experience as a Freight Dispatcher, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role preferred. Knowledge of OTR trucking operations, load boards, and dispatch software. Understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Ability to multitask and work under pressure. High school diploma or equivalent required; logistics or transportation certifications are a plus.
