Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Flatbed Driver and experience the thrill of navigating long-haul routes across the country! In this vital role, you will operate flatbed trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in handling various cargo types, including heavy equipment and building materials, will be essential in maintaining our reputation for reliability and excellence. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with flatbed configurations on over-the-road routes, covering extensive distances across multiple states. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure on-time deliveries. Transport a variety of freight including construction materials, machinery, hazardous materials (Hazmat), or other specialty cargo such as tanker loads or automobile transportation. Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols during driving, loading, unloading, and cargo handling activities. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with flatbed or tractor-trailer configurations. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to flatbed operations; experience with manual transmission is preferred. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazard materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Experience with route driving across long distances on over-the-road (OTR) routes; familiarity with GPS navigation tools. Ability to manually handle cargo safely and efficiently during load & unload procedures; experience with logistics cargo handling is a plus. Excellent driving record demonstrating safe driving habits; previous delivery driver experience highly desirable.
