Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes with a focus on dedicated lanes, ensuring timely delivery of freight across long distances Manage freight handling including load & unload procedures, truck loading and unloading, and securing cargo according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes while maintaining compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment to ensure safety and compliance Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to manual handling, hazardous materials regulations, and trucking industry standards while maintaining high safety scores Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight delivery across long-distance routes Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or other specialized transport equipment is highly desirable Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments during trips Experience handling logistics cargo including load & unload operations and securing freight in compliance with safety standards Prior work involving hazardous materials transportation or dangerous goods is a strong plus Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of freight transported (e.g., Hazmat endorsement) Demonstrated understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely in various driving conditions Embark on a journey that combines professional growth with the thrill of the open road!
