Header Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Over the Road (OTR) Driver and take charge of delivering freight across long distances with energy and precision! In this vital role, you will operate a variety of commercial trucks—including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks—ensuring timely and safe deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Your expertise in logistics cargo handling, route driving, and hazardous materials transportation will keep our operations running smoothly. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks on over-the-road routes. Plan routes efficiently using GPS navigation to optimize delivery schedules and fuel usage. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques or forklift assistance when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity. Transport hazardous materials in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations for dangerous goods. Secure loads properly for transit, including refrigerated cargo, hazardous substances, or specialty freight such as automobile transportation. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transit. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Hands-on experience with truck loading and unloading procedures for freight including flatbed and tanker loads. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operations and logistics cargo handling techniques. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License), preferably with endorsements for Hazmat or tanker certifications. Experience operating manual transmission trucks and using GPS navigation systems effectively. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during load & unload processes.
