OTR Class A CDL Driver - Houston Based

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an OTR Class A CDL Driver based in Houston! JDJ Global Transport is seeking an experienced Professional Driver based in Houston, Texas. This exciting role operates a company owned Freightliner Cascadia. We are looking for a dependable, safety conscious driver who communicates well, takes care of the equipment, meets pickup and delivery appointments, and wants a long term opportunity with a growing trucking company. You will be responsible for safely transporting general freight, while ensuring compliance with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Your expertise in route driving, logistics cargo handling, and delivery driving will help us deliver exceptional service to our clients while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailer on long-distance OTR routes Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries on time Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules Perform and conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues Maintain communication with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, breakdowns and Hours of Service Ensure accurate documentation of freight movement, delivery logs, incident reports, and shift records Maintain accurate ELD logs and required shipping documentation Submit BOLs, PODs, Receipts and other required paperwork in a timely manner Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the assigned equipment Properly inspect and secure freight when required Immediately report mechanical or safety concerns Comply with DOT, FMSCA, Hours of Service and company safety requirements Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience Current DOT medical certification Acceptable MVR Must meet carrier and insurance qualification requirements Must pass FMSCA Clearinghouse review Must pass pre-employment DOT Drug Screening No current SAP participation Ability and willingness to operate OTR Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, and safety procedures for automatic transmission trucks Dependable communication and professional conduct Ability to operate a 53-foot dry van combination Preferred Qualifications Prior experience operating flatbed or tanker trucks in an over-the-road setting Knowledge of trucking safety protocols and compliance standards established by federal agencies Join us as an OTR Class A CDL Driver and become part of a dedicated team committed to delivering excellence on every mile!
