In this role, you will operate specialized tractor-trailers designed for automobile transportation, ensuring safe, timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and logistics cargo handling will be vital in maintaining our reputation for reliability and excellence. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped for automobile transportation, including refrigerated trailers when necessary, across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload vehicles using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning optimal paths for timely deliveries. Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations (if applicable), and safety protocols during transit and cargo handling. Manage the documentation process for freight movement, including delivery logs, load manifests, and inspection reports. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for hazardous materials or dangerous goods when transporting sensitive cargo. Maintain a professional driving record by adhering to all traffic laws and company policies while representing the company on the road. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers used for automobile transportation. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed, tanker, or specialized freight equipment is a plus. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards. Skilled in route driving using GPS navigation tools to optimize delivery schedules. Ability to load & unload freight manually with attention to safety and cargo integrity. Experience with delivery driving in various environments and managing logistics cargo handling efficiently.
