Drivers will operate throughout the Midwest and East Coast. Drivers are normally home every weekend. This is a 1099 independent contractor position offering percentage-based compensation determined by driving experience and qualifications. We are looking for drivers who can operate independently, communicate professionally, plan routes efficiently, and safely handle equipment and freight. Position Details Equipment: 26-foot box truck with liftgate Position: OTR / Regional Driver Home Time: Normally home every weekend Starting Location: Charlotte, NC Operating Area: Midwest and East Coast; no routes beyond the designated operating region Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor Pay Structure: Percentage of gross load revenue based on experience Pay Schedule: Weekly, every Friday Navigation: Company-provided GPS Driver Requirements Applicants must meet the following requirements: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable box truck driving experience Valid driver's license Current DOT medical examiner's certificate, when required Experience operating a 26-foot box truck Ability to safely operate a liftgate and pallet jack Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify potential vehicle issues Ability to perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections Knowledge of route planning and GPS navigation Ability to follow dispatch instructions and communicate professionally Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious Ability to secure freight properly and complete required delivery paperwork Ability to maintain accurate hours-of-service records and comply with applicable DOT regulations Willingness to run regional OTR routes and work independently Driver Responsibilities Safely operate a 26-foot box truck throughout assigned regional routes. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical issues immediately. Properly operate the liftgate and pallet jack when required. Use company-provided GPS and plan efficient routes. Follow delivery appointments and account for road conditions, truck restrictions, and traffic. Maintain communication with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and breakdowns. Submit clear pictures of bills of lading (BOLs), proof of delivery (POD), and other required paperwork. Maintain accurate ELD records and comply with hours-of-service requirements. Keep the truck clean and report maintenance needs promptly. Handle freight responsibly and represent JD Prime Line LLC professionally. Compensation & Payment Schedule Percentage-based pay determined by driving experience and qualifications. Drivers are paid weekly every Friday. The specific percentage and compensation terms will be discussed during the hiring process. Compensation is based on the agreed-upon percentage and applicable load revenue terms. Home Time & Routes Regional OTR operations based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Routes primarily cover the Midwest and East Coast. Drivers are normally home every weekend, depending on dispatch schedules, freight availability, and operational circumstances. No routes beyond the company's designated operating region.
