OTR Box Truck Delivery Driver

Duties Safely operate a box truck, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations during route driving. Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices. Plan and follow optimized delivery routes to ensure punctual deliveries across designated areas. Verify delivery orders, inspect vehicles before and after trips, and maintain accurate delivery documentation. Interact professionally with customers upon delivery, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or questions. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and ensure the truck remains in top condition. Assist with warehouse operations when needed, including moving inventory and supporting warehouse staff with material handling tasks. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or commercial truck driving with a focus on box trucks or van drivers. Strong knowledge of route planning, traffic regulations, and DOT compliance standards. Experience with manual transmission vehicles and manual handling of heavy or bulky items. Familiarity with warehouse operations, including the use of pallet jacks and material handling equipment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to lift heavy loads safely while following manual lifting practices and weight handling guidelines.
