With both in-store and online customers, accurate order handling and dependable coordination are essential to providing a smooth shopping experience. We are seeking an organized, reliable, and detail-oriented Order Processing Assistant to support customer orders, merchandise coordination, fulfillment, and day-to-day retail operations. Position Overview The Order Processing Assistant helps ensure customer orders are handled accurately and efficiently from initial receipt through final pickup, shipment, or completion. This position supports both online and store-related orders by reviewing order details, confirming merchandise information and availability, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with sales and inventory staff, and helping prepare completed orders for customers. Because apparel orders frequently involve specific sizes, colors, styles, quantities, tailoring requirements, and individual customer preferences, attention to detail is especially important. The Order Processing Assistant helps make sure order information remains accurate as merchandise moves through different stages of processing and fulfillment. Some orders may require tailoring, alterations, special sourcing, or additional coordination before completion. In these situations, the Order Processing Assistant helps document customer requirements, communicate updates to the appropriate team members, and track outstanding items until the order is ready. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working with merchandise and customer information, and capable of managing multiple orders at different stages of completion. Previous experience in retail, apparel, order processing, e-commerce, inventory, or customer service is helpful but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Receive and process online and in-store customer orders Review new orders for accuracy, completeness, and required information Verify customer contact, shipping, delivery, and pickup details Confirm merchandise styles, sizes, colors, quantities, and other order specifications Check product availability and coordinate with inventory or sales personnel when needed Help identify unavailable, backordered, substituted, or incorrectly listed merchandise Assist with identifying appropriate alternatives when a requested size, color, or style is unavailable Enter, update, and maintain customer and order information in applicable systems Track orders through pending, processing, alteration, ready-for-pickup, shipped, and completed stages Maintain accurate records of outstanding orders and items requiring follow-up Coordinate orders involving suits, sport coats, dress pants, shirts, outerwear, accessories, formalwear, and related merchandise Assist with custom, special-order, and customer-specific documentation when required Review special-order information carefully before orders move forward Coordinate order details for merchandise requiring tailoring or alterations Accurately document alteration instructions, customer preferences, and relevant order notes Communicate order updates and changes to sales, tailoring, inventory, and other appropriate team members Monitor orders awaiting merchandise, alterations, customer confirmation, or other required action Follow up internally on outstanding items to help keep orders moving toward completion Locate and organize merchandise for customer orders Verify merchandise against order information before pickup or shipment Check styles, sizes, colors, quantities, and other relevant details during final order preparation Inspect merchandise for obvious defects, damage, incorrect items, …
