ORD CARGO SCREENER

Position Definition Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking a Cargo Screener to support Lufthansa cargo screening operations at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Cargo Screeners perform TSA and LCAG approved cargo screening and complete required security documentation. Screeners use multiple screening methods to ensure compliance with TSA, LCAG, and CAS standards. The role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient cargo security operations. Employment Compensation & Benefits Covenant Aviation Security offers a competitive compensation package, with a starting hourly rate of $24.35 per hour. Essential Functions Screening Operations Conduct physical inspections of cargo, containers, pallets, personal property, and freight in accordance with TSA regulations. Operate X-ray equipment, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) equipment, and other approved screening technology. Perform physical searches of cargo when required. Verify all person’s credentials and badges, ensuring the name, company and expiration date are all present on the badge. Verifying the picture matches the person seeking access. Identify prohibited or suspicious items and follow established escalation procedures. Verify shipping documentation and ensure compliance with customer and TSA requirements. Prevent unauthorized or prohibited materials from entering aircraft. Maintain continuous chain of custody and security of screened cargo. Compliance & Documentation Complete required reports, logs, and screening documentation accurately and on time. Follow all TSA, Lufthansa, Airport, and Covenant Aviation Security Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain operational awareness and communicate security concerns to supervisors. Utilize radios and other communication equipment as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must possess an original U.S. Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, or a valid U.S. Passport for I-9 verification. High School Diploma or GED required. Must have a valid PERC card & a 20-hour Security Training Certification. Must possess a valid state-issued Driver's License or Identification Card.
