Safety is our top priority, and our record reflects it. Position Summary The Operator / Material Handler keeps our job sites supplied and on schedule. You'll move, organize, and deliver electrical materials and heavy equipment so our journeymen and apprentices have what they need, where and when they need it. This role reports out of our Fort Walton Beach office but works primarily on commercial job sites in Mobile, Alabama and across the Florida Panhandle. Expect regular travel between sites in the region. Key Responsibilities Material transport: Move wire, conduit, circuit breakers, gear, and tools from storage areas and lay-down yards to specific work locations for journeymen and apprentices. Loading and unloading: Receive incoming shipments, inspect items for damage, verify quantities against packing slips, and load or unload delivery trucks. Inventory control: Track stock levels, label components, and keep storage zones and material records organized. Equipment operation: Safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment. Job site coordination: Prioritize daily delivery requests from foremen and keep materials staged ahead of the work. Travel between sites: Transport materials and equipment between job sites in Mobile, AL and the Florida Panhandle as projects require. Site safety and cleanup: Keep work areas clean, clear scrap and packaging waste, and follow all OSHA and job site safety rules. This is a support role. Material handlers do not install electrical wiring or equipment. Qualifications Required Ability to lift heavy materials, stand and walk for long shifts, and work outdoors in Gulf Coast heat, humidity, and rain. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and willingness to travel regularly between Mobile, AL and Florida Panhandle job sites. Strong attention to detail for counting inventory, reading labels, and checking deliveries. Clear communication with foremen, electricians, and delivery drivers. Commitment to safe work practices and OSHA job site rules. Preferred Forklift / powered industrial truck (PIT) certification, or ability to obtain it. Experience in construction, warehouse, or material handling, ideally on commercial electrical projects. OSHA 10 card. Familiarity with electrical materials such as wire, conduit, fittings, and breakers.
