This role provides operational support across multiple program areas, serves as a welcoming presence within the Family Resource Center/Day Center, and assists with the day-to-day needs of families, staff, and program operations. This position reports to the Operations Coordinator. Assist walk-in clients by providing information, connecting them with the appropriate staff member or resources, and ensuring a welcoming, hospitable environment. Support the organization's inventory management system by organizing, tracking, stocking, and distributing program supplies. Fulfill staff requisitions by ordering items through the internal item request system. Oversee the general email for Family Promise, assisting potential clients and outside organizations with inquiries. Receive, organize, and distribute incoming mail and packages. Process and sort incoming checks and other financial correspondence, ensuring timely distribution to the appropriate department. Assist team members with projects, special initiatives, and day-to-day operational needs. Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming reception and common area. Other duties as assigned. Our Ideal Candidate will have: Experience working in a nonprofit, human services, or customer-facing setting preferred. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred but not required. Presents familiarity of working with families and children Comfortable working for a multi-faith, mission driven organization Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal communications Ability to work independently, as well as effectively within a team Ability to work well with colleagues, board members, volunteers and community members Skills in being detail oriented and the ability to follow through on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment Proficiency in Microsoft office products This position is in-person and work is performed at Family Promise of West Michigan's administrative building. This is a part-time, flexible position with a maximum of 24 hours per week. Some hours may be scheduled in advance; others may be on an as-needed or on-call basis. Lifting of materials of up to 20 pounds may be necessary and standing or walking may be required.
