What We’re Looking For
We are currently seeking a safety-minded Operations Supervisor to lead and support the efficient, day-to-day operations at our Old Hickory, Tennessee, facility. This role is responsible for supervising employees and coordinating activities to ensure a productive, safe, and efficient work environment.
Shift: M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., may be more depending upon workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the plant Operations Manager with daily production planning and schedules.
- Oversee and direct production personnel in the day’s workload.
- Participate in production meetings and communicate expectations to employees.
- Create a positive work environment and encourage employee ownership of branch operations and performance.
- Develop personnel and monitor work practices to ensure that work is safe, efficient, and accurate.
- Work and assist in production areas when employees are out or during times of heavy workload.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and government regulations. This may include all incident and non-conformance investigations, coaching & disciplinary discussions, environmental, health, safety, and quality issues.
- Ensure equipment is in proper operating condition; properly document and report any repair issues.
- Immediately report all conditions that either could have/or result in safety, quality, and environmental incidents.
- Forklift operation.
- Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn when required in accordance with the Safety Policy.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and that equipment is operated in a safe manner in compliance with training, procedure, and policy.
- The Supervisor will be required to fill in for spotting trailers on an as-needed basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Candidates Should Possess:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years of operations experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Strong safety mindset
- Forklift certification
- Must have effective verbal and written skills, enabling clear and strong interactions with co-workers, chemists, administrative staff, delivery personnel, and management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and smell.
- This position frequently stands and walks for longer periods of time.
