Position Summary:
The Operations Specialist provides support to existing operating CO2 and HyCO facilities in the North Region as well as supporting new capital projects. The Operations Specialist focuses mainly on improving the efficiency and the reliability of the existing CO2 and HyCO facilities in the North Region. S/he assists operations with the development and revision of standard operating procedures. S/he assists with the development of training materials, updates curriculum, and manages modules in the Learning Management System (LMS) or similar tools to ensure smooth and consistent delivery and operation of training solutions. The Operations Specialist works with site operations to identify productivity opportunities. S/he assesses the process for reliability threats and develops solutions to mitigate those threats. In addition, the Operations Specialist will provide other operational support to the plants from time to time. This position will report to the North Region Operations Director of CO2 and HyCO.
Responsibilities include:
Supervision of Whiting CO2 plant operations
Driving improvements in reliability at the CO2 and HyCO sites.
Implementing productivity at the CO2 and HyCO sites.
Sharing best practices between facilities.
Identification of training needs and requirements based on business and project needs.
Development of Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Maintenance Procedures.
Tracking and evaluation of delivered training programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
At least 15 years in Operations, including 5+ years each in HyCO and CO2 Operations.
Over five years of experience providing technical training in an operational setting.
Over 5 years' management experience.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
Must be detail oriented with excellent organization, project management and time management skills.
Proficiency with MSOffice Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint) is required, experience with Lotus Notes, SharePoint, Captivate, and Learning Management systems strongly preferred.
