Overview Our corporation founded in 1968, is seeking an experienced Operations and Production Lead with a strong technical background in machining, metal fabrication, and supply chain management . This role oversees internal shop floor execution, ensuring that custom projects flow efficiently from incoming order to final delivery. You will manage job scheduling, material purchasing, shop floor expediting, and quality control, working closely with engineering and sales to meet strict client deadlines across aerospace, petrochemical, and fluid control sectors. Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling: Manage the intake and pipeline of incoming production jobs, balancing shop capacity, equipment availability, and strict client delivery timelines. Shop Floor Expediting & Workflow: Monitor active shop floor processes, identify and resolve bottlenecks across machining and fabrication lines, and actively expedite projects to ensure on-time delivery. Purchasing & Supply Chain: Oversee material purchasing, vendor negotiations, and inventory control for raw materials, specialized metals, and outsourced production processes. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all materials and finished components meet stringent compliance and traceability standards, particularly for aerospace, petrochemical, and rotary/fluid control requirements. Operational Coordination: Partner with engineering, design-build teams, and sales to streamline workflows and transition new jobs smoothly from quote approval to shop floor production. Technical Review & Interpretation: Accurately read, interpret, and analyze complex blueprints, schematics, and customer drawings to ensure shop floor comprehension, material specifications, and machining tolerances are met. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production control, or project management within a machine shop and fabrication environment. Technical Knowledge: Strong comprehension of metal fabrication, material science, and metallurgy . Familiarity with machinery repair and rebuild workflows and design-build specifications. Operational Expertise: Hands-on mastery of job scheduling, shop floor expediting, and purchasing/supply chain management . Industry Standards: Understanding of quality and compliance standards required for aerospace, petrochemical, and fluid control industries. Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication abilities to lead shop floor execution.
