Operations Manager – Food Distribution

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced food distribution environment. This is a player-coach role for a leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and being actively involved on the warehouse floor. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401(k), PTO & more What You'll Do Lead day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, replenishment, selection, staging, loading, and inventory control. Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse employees while building a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance . Monitor staffing, workflow, and productivity based on volume and business needs. Drive continuous improvement to reduce mis-picks, product damage, inventory errors, and waste. Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, WMS processes, and proper receiving practices. Ensure SOPs, Good Warehouse Practices (GWP), sanitation, and safety standards are followed. Oversee warehouse equipment (MHE), facility organization, and operational readiness. Partner with Dispatch, Safety, and other departments to keep daily operations running smoothly. What We're Looking For 7+ years of warehouse/operations experience Proven experience leading teams in a distribution environment Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, WMS, and MHE Food distribution, refrigerated warehouse, or cold-chain experience preferred Produce Pro experience is a plus Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills High school diploma or GED Hands-On Leadership This role is approximately 85% on the warehouse floor and 15% office-based . Candidates must be comfortable working in refrigerated/cooler conditions, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., and operating MHE when needed.
