Operations Manager – Floral Production & Logistics American Growers Floral Wholesale Location: Watsonville, CA Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience About Us Matilda's Bloombox and American Growers are two established, family-owned flower businesses based in Watsonville, California. We specialize in fresh, locally grown California flowers, producing beautiful seasonal bouquets for home delivery and supplying flowers to grocery stores and retail partners throughout Northern California. We work closely with local flower farms and have a dedicated production team. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our Watsonville facility. This is an important leadership position within our business. We need someone who is organized, dependable, proactive, and capable of managing people, production, purchasing, and logistics independently. Key Responsibilities Production Management Oversee daily flower production, bouquet assembly, packing, and order fulfillment. Ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time. Maintain high standards of quality and presentation. Improve workflow, productivity, and efficiency. Team Leadership Manage and supervise our existing production team. Create daily work schedules and assign responsibilities. Monitor attendance, performance, and productivity. Train employees and maintain a positive, organized working environment. Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees. Purchasing & Inventory Coordinate daily flower purchasing and deliveries from local growers. Manage inventory and monitor product quality. Minimize waste and maintain appropriate stock levels. Build strong working relationships with growers and suppliers. Logistics & Warehouse Operations Coordinate drivers, flower pickups, and outgoing deliveries. Ensure wholesale and home delivery orders leave on schedule. Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse. Resolve daily operational issues independently. Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate production, purchasing, and inventory records. Communicate with suppliers and internal team members. Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings. Provide regular operational updates to the business owners. Qualifications At least 3 years of management experience in production, warehouse operations, manufacturing, agriculture, food distribution, or a similar environment. Fluent English and strong conversational Spanish required. Proven experience supervising and managing employees. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and basic business software. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Experience working with fresh flowers, produce, or other perishable products is a plus. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who takes genuine ownership of their work.
