Operations Manager - Final Mile Delivery

We are seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day final-mile delivery operations in the Knoxville area. This is a hands-on management position for someone who is responsive, organized, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of problems without needing constant direction. The right candidate will manage delivery teams, communicate with warehouse personnel and clients, assist with recruiting and onboarding, track operational performance, and help grow the operation. Responsibilities: Oversee daily delivery operations and route coverage Communicate regularly with drivers, helpers, warehouse personnel, and clients Respond promptly to operational issues during delivery hours Handle call-outs, attendance issues, route problems, and other daily challenges Recruit, interview, follow up with, and assist in onboarding new drivers and helpers Track attendance, days worked, incidents, damages, claims, and team performance Address driver and helper performance issues professionally Coordinate vehicle and equipment issues with ownership Help reduce dropped routes, returned stops, and service failures Maintain professional relationships with warehouse and client management Provide ownership with regular updates regarding operations, staffing, and recruiting Actively help identify, recruit, and develop additional delivery teams as the operation grows Qualifications: Previous management or supervisory experience Transportation, logistics, final-mile delivery, appliance/furniture delivery, dispatch, fleet operations, Amazon DSP, FedEx contractor, or similar experience preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Highly responsive and dependable Comfortable managing multiple delivery teams and personalities Able to handle conflict professionally and respectfully Strong organizational and documentation skills Comfortable recruiting and interviewing candidates Able to work independently and make sound operational decisions Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Schedule & Availability: This is a full-time hybrid position. Some responsibilities can be handled remotely; however, the manager must be available to visit local operational sites when needed. Because delivery operations begin early, consistent availability and timely communication during operating hours are essential. Compensation: $53,000–$70,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional performance-based compensation may be available based on operational performance, recruiting, team retention, and growth. We are looking for someone who takes ownership.
