The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $100,300 - $144,200. The salary offered will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a Parts Operations Manager to support our Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) team. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the ECPDC Facility Manager. The selected candidate will provide direction and leadership within the PDC to ensure a safe, quality focused and productive operation. The individual will also ensure the PDC operation is supportive of corporate policies, objectives and the Toyota Way and to ensure that PDC operations are supportive of Dealers, internal departments and a high level of customer satisfaction for the Dealer and vehicle owner. Finally, this individual will help manage PDC safety, quality, customer, cost and team member development.

What You’ll be Doing:
Culture

Motivate, coach, and develop Operations Leaders and team members at all levels
Help promote a culture of health and safety and foster a high level of customer service throughout all team members and aspects of their role
Communication
Ensure corporate communications are cascaded appropriately
Provide guidance and mentorship to Operations Leaders on their group Floor Management Development System (FMDS) boards on a daily basis
Actively listen to leadership and team member input and collaborate with them to address problems, while further enhancing their understanding of the Toyota Way
Oversee operations leaders’ management of process control, 4S+S, and Kanban boards
Create an environment where leaders and team members are treated with respect, care and concern; (Mendomi)
Ensure team member operational feedback is heard to create ownership of problems and support resolutions
Continuous Improvement Activities (Kaizen)
Teach understanding of the Toyota Way, Toyota Business Practices (TBP), and the Toyota Production System (TPS) within individual and team discussions to guide problem-solving initiatives and define expectations around standardized work in all processes
Help develop training strategies for Operations Leaders and team members, and develop future people leaders through the team’s understanding of Toyota Job Instruction (TJI), Standardized Work Kaizen/Leader (SWK/SWKL), Floor Management Development System (FMDS), and Mendomi thinking way
Support senior leadership with major projects and annual Hoshin activities
Help manage large process improvements & Jishuken activities through data analytics, TBP or other practical problem-solving processes
Use appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on those in support of change during all stages of Kaizen – Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA)
Operations Management
Support facility Hoshin KPI’s and operational & capital budgets and maintain results through Floor Management Development System (FMDS) tools
Maintain an efficient and productive working environment for all activities of PDC operations and help provide direction regarding PDC layout, optimizing space utilization, ergonomics, and productivity
Oversee shift labor requirements and make suggestions or directions on deployment strategies
Help coordinate training strategies for leaders and team members, and develop future people leaders through the teams understanding of Toyota Production System (TPS) Toyota Job Instruction (TJI), Standardized Work Kaizen/Leader (SWK/SWKL), Floor Management Development System (FMDS), Hoshin planning, and Mendomi thinking way
Administer Corporate policies and procedures, including: Regulated labor, health & safety, and transportation of dangerous goods requirements
Ensure all vehicles assigned to the PDC are maintained and used according to company standards and policy
Other duties as requested or required
People Management
Provide timely guidance, coaching, feedback, and accountability for direct reports to drive learning & development and successful project completion
Support ongoing learning and development of your team by supplying mentorship, career path guidance, and addressing performance concerns and teach Operations Leaders to do the same
Inspire, motivate, and guide the team to foster collaboration, understanding, support & Kaizen (continuous improvement), resulting in work efficiency
Coach and develop the team in the use and understanding of the Toyota Production System (TPS), Toyota Way (TW), and Toyota Business Practices (TBP)
Leadership
Help provide strategic and operational leadership for business processes and support
Assist with providing clear recommendations linked to the organization's strategy and financial goals
Teach Operations Leaders on how to provide feedback for coaching and mentoring of their team
Identify and act upon opportunities for continuous improvement, while setting and accomplishing challenging goals
What You’ll Bring:
University degree or College diploma or certificate, preferably in Logistics, Business Administration or related field
3-5 years of progressive leadership/supervisory, setting objectives and managing personnel including coaching, mentoring, and developing talent among direct reports; experience in a warehousing or production environment is strongly preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to foster and maintain relationships
Professional and customer service-focused communication skills – verbal and written
Solid digital proficiency including MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint required, Power BI, Dashboard creation is an asset
WHMIS, JHSC and Dangerous Goods certification is an asset
