Role Summary The Operations Manager leads fabrication and assembly operations across all ABG manufacturing locations, ensuring consistent production execution, workforce performance, operational efficiency, and manufacturing standards. This role oversees production resources, schedules, quality, labor targets, and customer commitments while developing supervisors, team leads, and workforce capabilities. Working cross-functionally with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Safety, the Operations Manager drives operational improvements, resolves production constraints, and supports organizational growth, scalability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Fabrication Operations & Production Execution Oversee daily fabrication and assembly operations across manufacturing locations, ensuring alignment with production schedules, quality standards, labor targets, and customer commitments. Ensure production employees follow established work instructions, standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. Establish and monitor operational KPIs for fabrication and assembly performance, including production throughput, labor utilization, work quality, housekeeping, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery. Ensure personnel, equipment, tooling, materials, and work instructions are available to support planned production. Conduct routine process audits to ensure fabrication and assembly procedures are consistently followed and quality standards are maintained across CNC and Assembly operations. Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to address missed targets, downtime, rework, and capacity constraints. Establish and maintain consistent processes for job staging, material readiness, production tracking, and work-in-process management. Coordinate with Supply Chain and Planning to resolve material shortages, priority conflicts, and production interruptions. Maintain clear ownership and accountability for production issues through resolution. Ensure equipment reliability through completion of preventative maintenance program in coordination with team leads, operators, and maintenance technicians. Fabrication Leadership & Resource Management Directly manage and develop fabrication supervisors, team leads, and other assigned operational personnel across our manufacturing locations. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities for supervisors and team leads to strengthen leadership capability and support succession planning efforts. Foster a culture of camaraderie, curiosity, safety, and continuous improvement within our manufacturing locations. Partner with the Safety function to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and maintain safe work practices across both locations. Ensure staffing levels, employee skills, and workforce assignments align with production requirements and anticipated demand. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to production delays, quality concerns, equipment downtime, and operational inefficiencies. Identify opportunities to improve capacity, reduce operational risk, and increase manufacturing flexibility. Develop and manage fabrication operating budgets, including labor, overtime, consumables, tooling, and other production-related expenses. Qualifications 7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or production operations. 3–5+ years of experience leading manufacturing teams, including supervisors, team leads, or other frontline leaders.
