Position Summary The Operations Manager leads the day-to-day Operations function of Sunburst Solutions, ensuring every shipment is executed with discipline, proactive communication, and operational excellence while consistently delivering on our commitments to customers. This individual oversees shipment execution from order entry through billing readiness while establishing the operational standards, processes, and culture that will support the long-term growth of the organization. As one of the company's first leadership hires, this role offers a unique opportunity to help build a best-in-class transportation brokerage from the ground up. Primary Responsibilities Operational Leadership Lead the day-to-day Operations function. Establish and maintain operational standards that support scalable growth. Drive consistency through documented processes and operational discipline. Lead the development of the Operations team as the company grows. Shipment Execution Oversee customer orders from acceptance through billing readiness. Coordinate dispatch activities and monitor shipment execution. Manage operational exceptions and service recovery. Ensure completed shipments are accurate and prepared for billing. Customer Operations Ensure customers receive proactive and timely communication throughout shipment execution. Manage operational escalations and resolve service issues professionally. Deliver a predictable and consistent customer experience. Process Improvement Continuously evaluate operational workflows and identify opportunities for improvement. Partner with leadership to refine SOPs, technology utilization, and operational efficiencies. Support implementation of automation and process improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Commercial, Carrier Strategy, and Finance to ensure seamless execution. Support successful customer onboarding and operational handoffs. Ensure complete and accurate operational transitions to Finance. Qualifications Required Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations. Strong understanding of shipment execution and transportation operations. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems. Preferred Drayage and/or intermodal experience. Experience supervising or mentoring employees. Experience developing operational processes and SOPs. Experience working within a growing or entrepreneurial organization.
