Our team of experienced and apprentice plumbers is known for reliable, quality work. The role We are looking for an experienced, customer-focused Operations Manager to run the day-to-day activities of our plumbing business and support our plumbing team. You will manage incoming calls, scheduling and dispatch, estimating, procurement, customer relations, and training and compliance. Field involvement is occasional. You will report to the Business Owner / Managing Director. What you will do Manage incoming calls and act as the primary point of contact for customers, resolving inquiries and service complaints. Coordinate daily job schedules and dispatch the right team members to each job. Manage the contract with our third-party after-hours call service provider. Prepare estimates and quotes from customer requests and plans, and make sure time and material work is recorded and billed accurately and promptly. Procure materials, manage relationships with local suppliers, and keep truck and shop inventory at the right levels. Track the training status of every worker, maintain the training matrix, and schedule courses and renewals, including health and safety, WHMIS, Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry and First Aid and CPR. Keep us in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and enforce workplace safety protocols. Monitor team performance to find opportunities to improve while keeping operations profitable. Provide occasional input in the field when a serious problem arises. What you bring A strong understanding of the plumbing trade, with at least 5 years of experience in the trade and 1 to 2 years in a supervisory, lead hand or managerial role in residential or commercial service. Confidence and comfort dealing with customers, with exceptional communication and a customer-first mindset. Experience managing incoming calls, scheduling, preparing estimates and procuring materials. Working knowledge of Ontario health and safety training requirements and the ability to maintain training records. In-depth knowledge of the current Ontario Building Code, Part 7 (Plumbing). Proficiency with field management software for scheduling, dispatching and invoicing. The organizational agility to manage a small business. A clean Ontario Class G driver's licence with an acceptable driving abstract and maintained during employment. A Clean criminal record maintained during employment. Complete and maintain all safety-related training as applicable Asset: a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a 306A Plumber. Monday to Friday, 06:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Start date: as soon as possible.
