The Role PIRTEK South Boise is hiring an Operations Manager to lead our field service technicians and take ownership of our day-to-day service operation. This is a leadership role for someone who is technically capable, enjoys developing people, solves problems, and gets things done without needing constant direction. The position is approximately 70% leadership, sales, and operational management and 30% field involvement and technical support. You will have meaningful authority to make decisions within your area, and you will be accountable for the results. The Operations Manager is provided with training opportunities, at the franchise owner’s discretion, on industry knowledge, PIRTEK front and back-end processes, safety standards, and the associated operational software. PIRTEK USA also provides a 24/7 hotline, giving expert support when troubleshooting unusual situations or abnormalities in the field. Why This Role Real authority. What You Will Own Adhere to all industry and PIRTEK safety standards Lead, coach, and develop field service technicians Spend regular time in the field coaching technicians and checking service quality Build a technician skill-level and development program that identifies capabilities, training needs, and advancement opportunities Improve technician productivity, documentation, and repair quality Own technician performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action Provide sales route planning to technicians and perform sales support in the field Maintain materials and inventory by managing quantities, forecasting needs, and placing Purchase Orders, as needed Ensure company equipment and vehicles are well-maintained Serve as the primary escalation point for difficult hydraulic and mechanical problems Resolve escalated customer and service issues Identify operational problems, develop solutions, and carry projects through to completion Who We're Looking For Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Experience with field service, construction equipment, rental equipment, heavy-duty vehicles, material handling, or similar machinery Experience leading, coaching, training, and mentoring Able to build strong relationships while holding people accountable Organized enough to manage multiple priorities and finish what you start Comfortable with numbers. You track results, understand what drives cost and productivity, and want to learn the business side. Moderate to advanced computer/technology acumen (operational software, inventory management, etc.) Formal management experience is preferred but not required. We will consider a strong lead technician, field service supervisor, or experienced technical leader ready for more responsibility. How We Measure Success We run this business on data.
