This key leadership position will be responsible for the operational performance of a multi-shift warehousing and distribution facility. Providing leadership and guidance, and directing all plans for improved productivity through a continuous improvement approach for the overall warehouse processes, including safety, quality, engineering, materials, and logistics. Initiate cost reduction programs, improve labor efficiency, and develop teams to recognize areas of improvement with commitment to quality and on-time delivery.
Principle Responsibilities
- Directs the proper handling of all products received and shipped ensuring that support systems reflects accurate and timely goods movement.
- Analyzes inbound and outbound product activity and productivity of manpower and equipment to insure a cost efficient operation and a high standard of service to customers.
- Insures inventory integrity through timely processing of data and accuracy of cycle counting procedures.
- Oversees the operation of the warehouse facilities and ensures it is maintained in a clean and energy efficient manner providing a safe work environment.
- Develops, reviews, and approves preventative maintenance schedules and service contracts for all equipment.
- Ensures compliance with all corporate warehousing ISO 9000 compliance, safety policies and procedures and with all departments of labor and other governmental agencies.
- Approves all purchases of facility and operations supplies and equipment within company guidelines, dealing with vendors as necessary.
- Directs the scheduling and routing of transportation activities to satisfy outbound delivery requirements, maintaining a cost per pound of .09 cents or less (including product training and inbound vendor requirements),
- Maintains the daily activity of the facility including productivity, timely processing of paperwork, and production and employee utilization through the reporting system.
- Hires, terminates, trains and orients all employees of the operations.
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in distribution operations and facility management.
- Windows and Microsoft Office software
- Excellent leadership skills leading people through middle management, driving discipline, and change in a large facility.
The posted salary range for this position is $ 105,000 to $120,000 annually plus bonus. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
