Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational functions and driving the product development lifecycle. This role coordinates across purchasing, production, and logistics to ensure seamless execution from initial product concept through to launch. The focus is on bringing structure and efficiency to how our client develops and delivers its interior specialty products. The Operations Manager will support the development of processes, improve workflows, and ensure teams are aligned to deliver on customer commitments. There is opportunity for this role to grow in scope over time.

Key Responsibilities


Product Development & Lifecycle Management

·        Concept to Launch: Oversee the operational steps of the product development process, including brainstorming, prototyping, and testing new features or products.
·        Roadmap Alignment: Collaborate with the COO and Sales team to align operational capacity with the product roadmap and long-term business goals.
·        Market Feedback Loop: Establish systems to capture customer feedback and usage data to inform future product iterations and improvements.
·        Launch Orchestration: Coordinate the "go-to-market" operational requirements, ensuring production and logistics are ready for new product releases.


Operations & Execution

·        Oversee and support day-to-day operations across purchasing, logistics, and production coordination.
·        Actively troubleshoot operational issues and work closely with team members to ensure timely and effective resolution.
·        Coordinate across teams to ensure alignment on timelines, priorities, and customer deliverables.
·        Support planning of operational activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow coordination.


Process Improvement & Structure

·        Identify gaps in current processes and implement practical, scalable improvements.
·        Bring structure and consistency to operational workflows, tools, and communication practices.
·        Support the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
·        Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce delays.


Team Leadership

·        Supervise and support team members across operations functions, providing day-to-day guidance and direction.
·        Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative team environment.
·        Support performance management, coaching, and development of team members.
·        Lead by example as a hands-on, engaged leader.


Performance & Coordination

·        Track and report on key operational metrics (e.g., delivery timelines, project coordination, customer satisfaction).
·        Work closely with Sales and other internal teams to ensure alignment with client needs.


Supply Chain Support

·        Support supplier coordination, purchasing activities, and inventory tracking.
·        Assist in maintaining supplier relationships and identifying alternate sourcing options.
·        Contribute to improving supply chain processes over time with support from internal or external expertise.


Compliance & Quality

·        Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements and company policies.
·        Support quality control efforts by tracking issues, defects, and customer feedback.
·        Maintain documentation related to operations and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
·        5–8+ years in operations; experience in supply chain and/or product-development an asset.
·        Proven ability to bring structure, improve processes, and support operational efficiency.
·        Strong people leadership skills.
·        Experience with ERP or operational systems is an asset.

Working Conditions
·        Based in Kingston, ON with expectation to work on-site a minimum of 4 days per week.
·        Regular interaction with warehouse and production.
·        Occasional travel may be required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises team members across purchasing, logistics, production coordination. Provides coaching, performance feedback, and support for development.
Performance Metrics
·        On-time delivery and project coordination.
·        Operational efficiency improvements.
·        Customer satisfaction.
·        Team performance and engagement.
Employment Terms
·        Full-time, permanent position.
·        40 hours per week; additional hours as required in compliance with ESA.
·        Compensation based on experience.
·        Eligible for benefits after probation period.
·        Eligible for bonus program after 6 months.
·        3-month probationary period.
·        On-site work required (minimum 4 days per week).
