Description du poste / Job Description

    Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Operations is responsible for teams primarily involved in panel assembly, quality control, purchasing and procurement, receiving and shipping of goods, as well as the warehouse.

    The Director plans, organizes, and directs the activities under their responsibility, all of which contribute significantly to the implementation of automation projects. In this capacity, they are a member of the company’s management committee and actively participates in the development of business strategies by incorporating operational realities.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead and manage the employees under his responsibility in collaboration with the production supervisor;
    • Implement best practices, monitor performance indicators, and ensure the development and adherence to the operations plan;
    • Develop activity schedules or work plans and guide employees to meet the company’s expectations regarding productivity, quality, and/or the achievement of specific objectives;
    • Develop and/or maintain excellent business relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners;
    • Take direct responsibility for certain projects or contribute to more complex projects as needed.
    • Ensure the proper onboarding of new employees, as well as career development and new opportunities, as appropriate, for staff;
    • Contribute to the company’s growth by motivating teams to achieve objectives while maintaining a harmonious and safe work environment;
    • Contribute to a work culture and environment consistent with the organization’s expectations (mission, vision, values, team spirit, collaboration, etc.);
    • Manage the performance of staff under your responsibility (monitor, evaluate, provide feedback, offer recognition as needed, etc.);
    • Perform all other tasks related to these responsibilities (human resources management, leading team meetings, staff training, health and safety management, etc.)

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • A college or university degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field;
    • Any combination of education and experience relevant to the target field may be considered;
    • A minimum of five years’ experience in operations management or supervision (ideally in the field of automation);
    • Business experience or experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment, an asset;
    • Knowledge of the Quebec Electrical Code and various standards (CSA, UL, etc.), an asset;
    • Strong knowledge of control and automation systems and electrical systems;
    • Working knowledge of English;
    • Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety.
    • Basic knowledge of machine safety, an asset;
