Job Title: Operations Lead 

Pay: $23.00- $25.00 per hour. Non-Exempt, Hourly. 

General Hours: 7:30 am-4 pm 

(Current Active Driver's License & PDI automobile insurance requirements).


The Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting staff performance, ensuring that productivity, quality control, and quality assurance standards are met, and assisting leadership with workflow coordination, shipping operations, compliance, and process improvement. This position acts as a bridge between frontline staff and management to ensure efficient and effective operations while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.


Operations Lead Core Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day departmental operations
  • Ensure assigned tasks, production goals, shipping schedules, and service expectations are completed accurately and on time
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or priorities as needed
  • Assist with scheduling, coverage, and operational continuity
  • Support warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations

Shipping & Logistics

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Prepare shipping documentation, packing slips, and inventory records
  • Load, unload, and verify shipments for accuracy and quality
  • Maintain organization of shipping, receiving, and storage areas
  • Coordinate deliveries and transportation schedules as needed

Driving & Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate company vehicles, including box trucks and delivery vehicles
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse or production equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and used according to company and OSHA safety standards

Quality Control & Quality Assurance

  • Monitor production and operational processes to ensure quality standards are consistently met
  • Perform routine quality inspections of products, shipments, and completed work
  • Identify defects, inconsistencies, or process failures and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain quality documentation, records, and reporting requirements
  • Assist with the development and improvement of quality assurance procedures and operational standards
  • Work with leadership to reduce errors, waste, and operational inefficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, company expectations, and regulatory standards

Staff Leadership & Support

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members
  • Reinforce company policies, procedures, and workplace expectations
  • Assist supervisors/managers with training
  • Address minor employee concerns and escalate issues when necessary
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and professionalism

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and applicable regulations
  • Maintain OSHA certification and apply safety best practices in daily operations
  • Conduct or assist with safety checks, safety enforcement, inspections, and incident reporting,
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as a communication link between employees and leadership
  • Provide operational updates, production status, quality concerns, and issue reporting
  • Coordinate with other departments to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Participate in meetings and assist with implementing operational initiatives

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to: Production Manager / Senior Director of Operations
  • Supervises: Assigned operational staff or team members

Requirements

 Qualifications 

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • OSHA Certified preferred 
  • Valid driver’s license required with an acceptable driving record
  • Experience operating box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, or warehouse equipment preferred
  • Experience with quality control, quality assurance, or production oversight preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of operational procedures, logistics, and workplace safety

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move materials throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and move up to designated weight requirements safely
  • Ability to operate vehicles and warehouse equipment safely
  • Ability to work flexible hours or overtime when operationally necessary

Minimum Requirements to Work at PDI: 

  • Must be 21 years or older 
  • Pass pre-employment drug and background checks
  • Subject to random drug testing during employment 
  • Computer-literate and comfortable with technology  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills  
  • Must provide a current, valid driver’s license at all times
  • Agree to a motor vehicle record check 
  • Must maintain continuous auto insurance that meets PDI’s required limits

Travel:

  • Local travel within a 100-mile radius may be required on occasion 
  • Travel could result in a variance in scheduled hours
