Operations Lead

JB Products, Inc. a subsidiary of FPC International, is seeking detail oriented, personable, and resourceful Operations Group Lead to join our Operations team. In this role the Operations Group Lead will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations by overseeing daily floor activities, maintaining quality standards, and keeping work on pace throughout the shift. This role fosters a collaborative team environment while enforcing shop rules and addressing issues in real time.

Location: South Bend, IN (6851 Enterprise Dr.)

Work Schedule: Day Shift (M-F, 8 hours/day)

Reports to: Director of Operations

Team Dynamics: On a team with Productions Leads, Shipping/Receiving team

Certifications: None Required

Ideal Candidate will have: At least one year of related experience, preferably in manufacturing. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

What you'll be doing:

Essential Job Functions: 

• Oversee daily production floor activity by supporting production and keeping work moving. 
• Ensure operators are working as expected, and production stays on pace throughout the shift. 
• Verify basic quality requirements are followed, including correct parts, hardware, and packaging. 
• Hold team accountable to simple, repeatable work standards. 
• Enforce shop rules and expectations, including phones and break times. 
• Identify and address production or quality issues in real time. 
• Communicate with shipping on any possible production delays. 
• Foster a collaborative team environment. 
• Oversight of procurement efforts relating to international orders.  
• Identifies opportunities to improve purchasing processes and reduce costs. 
• Maintains detailed records and prepares communications and reports as needed. 
• Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors, and the general public. 
• Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed. 

Background You'll Need:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent. 

•  A minimum of one to three (1-3) years of operational, manufacturing, or production experience in an increasingly expanded role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
