Job Summary: The Part-Time Seasonal Operations Host is an integral member of the Wheelhouse West Operations Department and serves as a primary point of in-person contact for guests. This position could be up to a 10-17 hour per week position and is expected to last between March 1 – November 30.  This role is highly visible and plays a key part in shaping each guest’s first impression of the company. The operations host actively contributes to delivering a welcoming, professional, and exceptional guest experience at every interaction. They will champion the company’s mission and vision while modeling the company’s values. 


What you will do:

  • Perform set up and teardown of internal spaces used for the company driving programs 
  • Perform student and guest check-in for programs/receptions
  • Handle inbound and outbound front desk calls to assist with inquiries, directions, etc.
  • Prepare student awards and manage inventory
  • Stock and maintain food and beverage locations for daily program use
  • Assist with retail sales and inventory management (stocking, organizing, shipping)
  • Protect the moral, legal, and financial well-being of the company. 
  • Continually work with other team members to find new and better ways of doing business with an emphasis on safety, accountability, leadership, and guest service
  • Other job duties as assigned by management 
Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) 
  • Experience with retail point of sale systems a plus
  • Ability to interact well with students, guests, and fellow employees 
  • Demonstrate outstanding hospitality in person and over the phone
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must be able to make quick, sound decisions that match the company’s values and standards
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner

  • Adhere to an event-driven work schedule—with some evenings, weekends, and holidays required
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Professionally represent the company in the community, industry organizations and during events
  • Use proper and professional language in the workplace, when interfacing with guests or potential clients and when representing the company in an official capacity
  • Show respect for others and maintain a positive attitude
  • Maintain current valid driver’s license, clean driving record, pass a background and drug screening

  

Physical Demands:

  • Often required to work long hours when needed, or as business requires (including holidays, nights and weekends)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to work on feet for long periods, and in inclement weather
  • Moderate levels of stress may be associated with this position
