Operations & Food Safety Coordinator Tailor Cut Produce – North Brunswick, NJ Full-Time | On-Site Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year Tailor Cut Produce is a fresh-cut produce processing and distribution company serving foodservice and wholesale customers throughout the region. We are seeking an energetic, organized Operations & Food Safety Coordinator who wants broad exposure to operations, purchasing, food safety, quality and supply-chain activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career professional who wants to learn how a food manufacturing and distribution business operates. The position is primarily office and coordination based, with regular interaction with production, warehouse, receiving and QA teams. It is not a production or warehouse labor position . What You Will Do Support morning operational readiness , including review of customer orders, production needs, deliveries, pickups and outstanding issues. Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, QA, Drivers and Management regarding shortages, substitutions, returns and other operational issues. Prepare and maintain production, picking, receiving and order documentation. Assist with customer pick lists and next-day production requirements. Review inventory requirements and assist with purchasing produce, packaging and operating supplies. Compare supplier pricing and availability and assist with vendor selection. Prepare and transmit purchase orders to approved suppliers. Coordinate daily market purchases and other time-sensitive orders. Assist with receiving discrepancies, returns and supplier documentation. Support customer order and invoice follow-up when needed. Work with the Office Administrator on Restaurant365, Commissary, EDI and related order/documentation processes. Food Safety & Quality Conduct or verify routine GMP and food-safety inspections . Help monitor compliance with sanitation, hygiene, PPE and food-handling requirements. Assist with receiving checks, temperature verification, ATP testing and environmental monitoring. Maintain food-safety logs, corrective-action records and supporting documentation. Assist with supplier approval, traceability and lot documentation. Support HACCP/HARPC, FSMA and other food-safety compliance activities. Assist management during customer, regulatory, insurance and third-party audits. Escalate food-safety, quality or operational concerns to management. Training will be provided. Prior food-manufacturing experience is helpful but is not required. Tailor Cut Produce will provide and pay for HACCP and Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) training . Successful completion of both within the first three months of employment is required for this role. What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Food Science, Biology, Agriculture, Quality Management or a related field . Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong organization and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Good written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating with vendors, customers and employees. Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and email. Ability to learn purchasing, inventory and ERP/accounting systems. Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate an issue. Reliable early-morning availability. Willingness to complete company-paid HACCP and PCQI training within three months of hire. Experience with food manufacturing, produce, purchasing, warehousing, QA, HACCP, GMPs or FSMA is a plus but not required . Work Environment This position is primarily office-based but requires regular interaction with employees throughout the facility.
