CHS is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team. In this hands-on role, you'll play a vital part in supporting daily elevator and fertilizer operations, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks, performing general facility maintenance, and maintaining cleanliness. Responsibilities
• Perform general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently under general supervision.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the handled commodities and ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations.
• Offer courteous and professional service to customers.
• Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may involve sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
• Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using both heavy and light-duty machinery/equipment.
• Control and monitor all load-out functions effectively.
• Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems.
• Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms, while inspecting equipment for issues.
• Ensure the quality of inventory, which may include blended, bulk, or packaged products.
• Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemicals, seeds, and feeds to customer sites.
• Maintain all work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, conducting regular housekeeping duties.
• Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal.
• Execute warehouse operations such as driving loaders, inventory management, forklift operation, and general maintenance.
• Promptly report customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to safety policies and procedures and proactively addressing hazards.
• Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure effective operations.
• Complete other duties as assigned to help ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
• Must meet minimum age requirement.
• 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
Additional Qualifications
• Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• CDL license or ability to obtain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Agricultural experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Pre-employment screening may include drug, criminal, and motor vehicle checks, and selected candidates must pass these screenings.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to climb railcars, ladders, stairs, and bins.
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions.
