We are a small Vancouver company selling furniture made by our partner factories in China and shipped to customers across Canada and the US. This is our first operations hire. What you will do Speak with our factories, suppliers and shipping agents in China, in Mandarin. Work with our team in English. Keep the conversation going both ways: take our questions and instructions to our partners, and bring their answers back to us with your own view. Push partners to meet deadlines, and solve problems when things go wrong. Review each order with the factory before we approve it, and make sure it matches exactly what we asked for. Follow up on production: confirm orders, check progress, chase late orders. Work with our quality control contractors in China: give them clear instructions, and solve problems together with them. Work with shipping agents, freight forwarders and carriers so every order ships on time and by the right route. Follow each order from factory to customer. Keep our order records accurate in Shopify and Google Sheets: status, ship dates, tracking. Send a short daily update on where every open order stands. Use AI tools, including Claude Code, in your everyday work. We can show you how. Schedule Remote, with in-person meetings in Metro Vancouver several times a week. Sunday to Thursday. You keep things moving without being told. Organized and eager. You notice when a number or a date does not add up, and you ask rather than guess. Quick to learn.
