With a team of nine Educators and over 29,000 student engagements annually, the Education Department is committed to providing equitable access to a unique, engaging experience that enriches students’ education. Educational enrichment programs at The Mariners’ take place in both the Museum and Park. The Operations Coordinator is a professional charged with working under the general supervision of the Chief of Staff to support The Mariners’ educational and interpretive mission by serving as the liaison between The Mariners’ and the schools we serve. The Operations Coordinator works closely with the Chief of Staff to strengthen and expand partnerships with school districts while also coordinating the scheduling and booking of all educational enrichment programs.



Duties:

Scheduling

  • Serve as the main point of contact for school administrators, curriculum coordinators, and teachers wishing to book an educational enrichment program with the Museum.
  • Ensure a high-quality experience for students and teachers by clearly and effectively communicating details and logistics of in-house, outreach, and virtual programs.
  • Manage the Education Department teaching calendar.

Day-to-Day Logistics

  • Support the day-to-day logistics of the Education Department, including greeting and monitoring the status of visiting student groups.
  • Communicate daily needs of student groups with other Museum departments, including Guest Relations and Facilities, etc.

Reporting and Data Management

  • Manage program booking database.
  • Manage invoicing for all student groups.
  • Track monthly and annual Education statistics and prepare reports as required.

This is a full-time, salary-exempt position with a salary of $42,000. Candidates must include a Cover Letter in order to be considered.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with external partners, Education Department team members, and other Museum departments.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt, and think creatively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work accurately in a busy, high-energy environment.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites, specifically Google Calendar.

Education and Experience:

  • Two years of related work experience is required. Experience in informal or formal learning environments is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Experience in data management and using ERP/CRM systems strongly preferred.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be able to pass a background check prior to employment.
  • Must be available to work occasional weekends and special events.
Salary Description
$42,000 / year
