Operations Coordinator

Location: Bolton, ON

Are you an organized, detail-driven professional with a passion for operational excellence? Weston Forest is looking for an Operations Coordinator to support production, inventory, and logistics functions at our Bolton facility.

In this role, you’ll serve as the hub of communication between multiple departments, ensuring that production schedules are met, inventory is accurate, and shipments move efficiently. You’ll play a key role in driving process accuracy, supporting health and safety, and contributing to Weston Forest’s reputation for reliability and quality.

What You’ll Do

Production & Inventory Coordination

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules aligned with operational capacity and customer delivery timelines.

  • Coordinate with Production and Inventory teams to track materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods in TallyWorks and related systems.

  • Prepare and manage reman (rework) paperwork, ensuring accuracy, approvals, and timely completion.

  • Monitor production KPIs and inventory metrics to support management decision-making.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

Logistics & Shipping Administration

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.

  • Schedule and confirm trucking and carrier appointments.

  • Maintain the shipping and receiving calendar for the Bolton facility.

  • Prepare and verify shipping documents, including customs paperwork for cross-border shipments.

  • Support outbound tagging, order dispatch, and customer return processes.

  • Provide backup support to Shipping, Receiving, and Dispatch teams as needed.

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Act as a liaison between Operations, Production, Inventory, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance teams.

  • Communicate production and shipment updates, proactively addressing delays or discrepancies.

  • Support Sales by providing timely and accurate updates on order and inventory status.

Quality & Compliance Support

  • Ensure reman and rework processes meet quality and documentation standards.

  • Report any process issues impacting quality or efficiency.

  • Support continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.

Health & Safety

  • Adhere to and promote all Weston Forest Health and Safety policies and practices.

  • Comply with OHSA and company-specific safety protocols.

  • Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to management.


What We’re Looking For

Education & Certification

  • Post-secondary education in Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Administration preferred.

  • Health and Safety training or certification is an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in operations, production coordination, inventory control, or logistics.

  • Experience in lumber, forestry, or manufacturing industries preferred.

  • Proven ability to coordinate production and shipping in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Experience using TallyWorks or similar production and inventory management systems.

  • Familiarity with ERP platforms and logistics documentation processes.
