We are seeking a motivated Graduate Logistics Officer to join our shipping terminal operations team. This role offers hands-on exposure to the end-to-end logistics chain within a high-volume, safety-critical terminal environment. You will work across key operational and planning areas, gaining practical experience in terminal coordination and optimisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who has studied Logistics at either Tafe or University and looking to build a career with an established industry leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day shipping terminal operations, including vessel arrivals, berthing schedules, and cargo movements
- Assist with container / bulk cargo coordination across quay, yard, and landside interfaces
- Monitor and report on terminal KPIs, turnaround times, and throughput
- Liaise with internal teams, shipping lines, transport providers, and stevedores
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and cost control
- Assist with operational planning, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Develop a strong understanding of port safety, environmental, and regulatory obligations
About You
We’re looking for a graduate who is operationally minded, analytical, and keen to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
You will ideally have:
- A recent or upcoming degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong interest in ports, shipping, or terminal operations
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Well-developed communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis capability (Excel skills highly regarded)
- A proactive, safety-focused mindset and willingness to work in an operational environment
