Busy gift shop seeks Seasonal Staff for Retail Website Shipping Department Busy online gift shop seeking multiple seasonal staff members to assist in store operations throughout the holiday season. About Us: A staple in Tacoma for over 45 years, the Pacific Northwest Shop is a second-generation family-owned gift shop dedicated to the sale of products made in the Pacific Northwest. Over time, we’ve searched far and wide across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia to build relationships with artists and manufacturers to provide products that highlight the best of what this region has to offer. Today, we work with hundreds of suppliers to bring a variety of products to our shelves. We have two stores, located in Tacoma and Seattle, and are growing our online presence. About You: You must be passionate about proper packaging, and have good spatial awareness. You’ll be comfortable preparing product to survive shipping with high levels of accuracy and low rate of mispicks in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of orders. We have a diverse team of employees that you’ll become a part of. You have open availability on weekdays and weekends. You are detail oriented, punctual, dependable, and enjoy gift wrapping! Availability to work Monday to Sunday is necessary, as well as the ability to work additional hours during peak seasonal periods. This is an active role that requires standing or walking for most of each 8hr shift. Current hours of operation are 10am - 6pm, Monday to Sunday. Qualifications: Self-starter able to complete tasks with minimal supervision once training is completed, whilst working and communicating as part of the fulfillment team Able to retain information and learn product ranges for excellent customer service Capable of lifting 5-15lb regularly, 25-40lb occasionally A driver’s license and reliable transportation for transporting product between our retail shop and warehouse (less than half a mile distance between the two locations) Excellent and punctual timekeeping skills Primary Responsibilities: Taking part in the daily operations of the Ecommerce/Online department, from order fulfillment and shipping, to phoning customers, and checking in merchandise deliveries. Picking out product for customer online orders Packaging orders securely Making and filling gift boxes for orders, and in quantity for clients Working with and alongside staff to accomplish all daily tasks efficiently, while making sure all orders are handled and shipped in a timely fashion Answering phone orders from customers, as well as contacting customers to clarify order details when necessary, and taking phone orders Receiving and unpacking deliveries of merchandise, accurately counting quantity while performing quality checks Using computers to check inventory, make sales, and update spreadsheets Liaising between locations to request/provide merchandise based on sales Making occasional trips to the local Post Office and UPS store, daily product transfers to our Tacoma store Supporting the Ecommerce team with other tasks as needed. Maintaining a safe, tidy, and organized work environment, and participating in daily cleaning of the shared workspace This role is a dynamic part of our business; this job posting isn't inclusive of everything you may do in this position.
