Company Overview Fastrak Express, Inc. is a specialized agricultural transport company. We specialize in but are not limited to the efficient hauling and logistics of straw-bedded horse manure and mushroom soil. Operating out of our Rising Sun, MD facility, we run our own dedicated fleet that keeps regional agricultural and mushroom-growing operations moving. We pride ourselves on reliability, strong driver relationships, and a tight-knit, on-site team. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Trucking Dispatcher to manage our daily hauling operations and build strong customer relationships. Working on-site from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, you will be the central point of contact for our company drivers, customers, and facilities. Because our drivers are on the move around the clock, this role includes carrying a company-provided phone for 24/7 emergency communication and driver support. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who understands the unique flow of logistics and excels at keeping drivers motivated and on schedule. Core Responsibilities * Daily Dispatching: Route and schedule drivers efficiently to handle the pickup and delivery of straw-bedded horse manure, mushroom soil, and other products. * Driver Support & Retention: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, ensuring they have accurate pickup/delivery details and resolving on-the-road issues. * Customer Contact & Sales: Serve as the primary point of contact for existing accounts, proactively manage customer requests, resolve inquiries, and look for opportunities to sell transport services to new farms, stables, and agricultural clients. * Proprietary Software Management: Utilize our custom internal software to input load data, track fleet movement, and maintain accurate operational records. * Facility Coordination: Coordinate closely with mushrooms farms, and delivery sites to manage arrival windows and keep turn times low. * Compliance: Monitor driver HOS (hours of service) to ensure compliance with DOT safety guidelines with a ‘safety first’ attitude. Qualifications & Requirements * Experience: 1–3 years of experience in trucking dispatch, fleet routing, or agricultural logistics preferred. * Availability: Ability to work full-time on-site (M-F, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM) and a firm commitment to managing the after-hours company phone. * Tech Adaptability: Comfort learning and navigating custom, proprietary software quickly. * Communication Skills: Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with commercial drivers and customers. * Resilience: A calm demeanor under pressure and the ability to handle unexpected logistical changes independently. * Organizational Excellence: Ability to manage a high volume of moving parts without losing track of details. * Knowledge: A strong working understanding of FMCSA., DOT, and HOS. Preferred Qualifications, but not required * CDL: Possess a valid Class A CDL.
