Oil/Propane Delivery Driver

LOCATION: Prospect, CT COMPANY: Dependable Energy Inc. is a full-service home energy and HVAC provider specializing in fuel delivery, heating and cooling services, propane systems, and equipment installation and repair. The company is family-owned and has operated in Connecticut since 1990. JOB SUMMARY: Seasonal- Full Time Responsible for the safe, reliable, and timely delivery of heating oil and propane to residential and commercial customers. This position involves completing daily vehicle inspections, accurately documenting deliveries and inventory, and addressing basic vehicle maintenance needs. The driver is expected to follow all applicable DOT, state, and federal safety requirements while providing professional and courteous service to customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Safely operate oil and propane delivery trucks and transport products to assigned residential and commercial locations. Complete thorough daily inspections of the assigned delivery vehicle. Follow and maintain compliance with all applicable state, federal, and DOT regulations. Deliver a high level of professional and courteous customer service. Accurately record mileage, product inventory, deliveries, and other required information. Identify potential vehicle maintenance or repair needs and help ensure the truck remains in safe operating condition. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Valid CDL driver’s license, current Hazmat certification, and valid TWIC card required. 1–2 years of experience in residential oil, propane, or comparable fuel delivery is preferred. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: This is a 100% field-based position that requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The driver will operate an oil or propane delivery truck and frequently enter and exit the vehicle throughout the workday to complete customer deliveries. The position involves regular handling and exposure to hazardous materials and requires adherence to all applicable safety procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is a physically demanding position requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, etc. The driver must be capable of handling a 75–90 lb. delivery hose and pulling it distances of up to 175 feet when completing deliveries. The position requires frequent communication and the ability to hear clearly. Employees will regularly climb in and out of the delivery truck, handle heavy hoses and equipment, and may need to climb over fences, walls, or other obstacles to access customer delivery locations.
